Environmental Policy
We at Revolution Products strongly believe in the current movement to be good stewards of our environment. Though resources seem abundant they are not limitless. It is in all of our best interest to respect and take care of our environment. It is in this spirit that we take the following actions to reduce our negative impact on the environment, and hopefully improve the world we live in.
- Our products are built to last. This fact has a beneficial side effect for the environment. Our products are built to withstand constant use in institutional settings inherently reducing the frequency at which replacement is needed. This in itself reduces the amount of virgin materials needed through life cycle costing.
- We utilize a Just in Time (JIT) manufacturing process. This reduces the amount of raw materials held in stock at any given time. It also eliminates the amount of energy and resources needed to stock items. Materials are ordered as needed reducing the impact on our renewable resources and the supply chain.
- Our products are shipped blanket wrapped to 99% +/- of our customers. These blankets are reused. This greatly reduces the consumption and disposal of packaging materials such as cardboard and plastic. When cardboard and or plastic are used, every effort is made to either recycle material through recycling centers locally or reuse as packaging material.
- When cardboard is needed B&B will use corrugated cardboard that contains a minimum of 35% recycled post-consumer and/or post-industrial content.
- We will always make an effort to consolidate shipments to reduce the use of fossil fuels and the emission of green house gases.
- Our hardwood and core material will be purchased from suppliers whose source is from managed forests to promote the smart use and future availability of our renewable resources.
- We will use core materials, raw materials, metals, plastics and other materials containing recycled content whenever economically viable.
- Currently in the manufacture of metal and wood products waste is unavoidable. Through the use of CAD and CNC machinery we keep waste to a minimum. What waste is produced normally has a use and can be reused internally. In an effort to reduce landfill use what can be recycled will be.
- Our metal products will be finished using an electrostatic powder-coat process. This is an environmentally friendly metal finishing process which reduces the amount of VOC into the atmosphere. Excess powder is recaptured and reused. This coating produces a very durable finish which creates minimal off-gassing from the finished product and has minimal impact on air quality of interior spaces.
- Our manufacturing facilities and processes comply with current OSHA standards insuring the safety of our employees and minimal impact on our environment.
